Decorations, reflections on the sector

A journey that began 30 years ago, a project that represents a challenge.

The challenge of acquiring and conveying traditional decoration techniques, offering opportunities for training, self-expression, awareness, integration and social inclusion.

Taking from the past, in order to guarantee a future to those experiencing a difficult period in their life. A project that aims to promote and create new individual, professional and social life journeys; refocusing on the dignity of the human being, starting precisely from the importance of the individual and the development of individual skills and know-how.

Collaborations

Renzo Mongiardino

The workshops of San Patrignano began more than 30 years ago with the arrival of Renzo Mongiardino who joined the community to work on the house of founder Vincenzo Muccioli.

Nicholas Haslam

Following a visit to our workshop in 2018, Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen were immediately captivated by the story of San Patrignano and the art of craftsmanship that we teach to the members of our community. Although based in London, Paolo is originally from Italy and so felt an instant connection with the work we do both creatively and ethically, by turning adversity and misfortune into something beautiful and constructive.

Shortly after their visit, Paolo and Philip decided that they wanted to support the community through their own award winning interior design business, and after a second visit in 2019, hand selected a collection of 9 wallpapers to stock exclusively in the UK. As well as these, Nicholas Haslam Ltd will also be distributing a number of our other wallpapers for our English clients.

Vito Nesta

The Villa Mozart collection dedicated to the homonymous villa designed by Piero Portaluppi was born for the Doppia Firma project. Originally hand-painted by the artisans of San Patrignano, the wallpapers retrace the rooms of the villa and linger on the details and deco of the forties, following the veins of the marbles and the lines of the woods and the tiled.

Vito Nesta is a designer, art director, interior decorator and artisan, he's driven by his attraction to foreign culture, using his travels as a persistent form of inspiration. His creative thoughts are expressed through projects of graphic and product design, interior decor, photography and painting.

Cologni Foundation

The Cologni Foundation of Art Crafts is a private non-profit institution. His initiatives, aimed at a "new Renaissance" of art crafts, are aimed mainly at young people: to train new generations of Masters of Art, saving the artisanal activities of excellence from the risk of disappearance that threatens them, is in fact one of the Foundation's goals.

Quintessence

"It’s not often that a casual conversation on social media leads to discovering a remarkable community where the art of fine craftsmanship has been saving lives for more than 40 years. But San Patrignano is an exceptional place where addiction recovery meets the best of sustainable luxury. Last year, I received a message on Instagram" Read more...

How we work

We produce by hand.

Explaining the numerous activities that take place throughout the year would take hours and hours; that’s why we’ve made a video.

We don’t catalogue or list the decorations, patterns and techniques we use in our work. Every project mirrors the taste of whoever commissions it. We create the sign, the shape that reflects and engages the customer; everything we do is unique. Sometimes, thanks to the involvement of those who have chosen to work with us, we experiment with traditional, modern, Oriental or pop elements. Binding solutions and harmonious expressions of a discreet and sophisticated luxury. Suggestions, signs that are different in terms of technique, style and colour. Each technique can be used on different materials to create unique effects each time.

Who we work for

We work with the best interior design studios.

We produce wallpaper and fabrics decorated by hand for residential projects, naval contracts, yachts, hotels, restaurants, company showrooms, fashion houses, boutiques, flagship stores and any other environment where it is necessary to find a balance between eclecticism, luxury and sophistication; with the incredible added value of social commitment and sustainable architecture.

We work with brands from the world of design for whom we decorate the surface of furnishing items, wainscotings, beds, upholstery and doors. We decorate a variety of different materials, such as paper, wood, steel, MDF and resin. We only use water-based products to decorate materials that are certified as fireproof. We export overseas and if necessary, even arrange installation.

We’re open to collaborating with interior designers, image creators, architects and artisan companies and workshops that distribute, diffuse and promote made in Italy artisan art and crafts.

San Patrignano has been welcoming and recovering people with addiction problems for 40 years, all free of charge

Restoring hope to marginalized people by welcoming them in our large family, has a very high cost. With our production activities and services we are able to meet only 50% of our needs.

Supporting the San Patrignano Community means putting our heart in it and participate in a great life project.
